Questions about the booking procedure

Q. What is the policy regarding Covid-19

Q. Do you have a reception and what time does it operate?

A. To keep the cost of our Rooms/Beds down we have done away with a reception. We have electronic key pads fitted to doors. All our bookings are made online. We then send out electronic key codes to the main front and rear door and the same for your allocated room by email. This means you are no longer restricted to times of arrival, having to queue to get your keys etc.


Q. Do you offer breakfast and meals?

A. No we are self-catering.

  • There are various cafe's, restaurant's, pubs that serve food approx. 5 minute walk away towards the Town Centre

  • You can have food delivered if you wish, various companies are here 


Q. How do I get a receipt for payment?

A. If booked direct with us or through Hostelworld and its affiliated companies, we will send you a receipt by email.

  •, Air BnB, home away, Trip advisor and expedia will give you a receipt as we do not handle their payment transactions

Q. If I book direct with you, is there any hidden fees or card charges

A. No and we have better prices than our agents such as, Air Bnb, Hostelworld etc.

Q. What is the arrival time?

A. All guests are welcome to arrive after 2 pm. (If we have had a group booking the night before, the room may not be ready until 4 pm, but this is very rare).


Q. Can we drop luggage off earlier than 2 pm

A. Of course we will assist you, but you will need to discuss this with us first as on some occasions it may not be possible? Use the contact page here


Q. Can I speak to a member of staff if needed?

A. Of course, we have volunteers in and out of the building throughout the day and night, you can normally find them in the kitchen or lounge. We also have a contact telephone number displayed in the building for emergencies

A. No


Q. Do you have Parking?

A. No we do not have parking – but we can assist you - Click here to find out more

Q. Can we bring cycles

A. Yes - There are fixed anchors in the secure rear yard, covered by CCTV, bring your own chain/padlock. Should you need to use the rear gate to bring cycles in speak to us. We do not allow cycles to be taken to bedrooms or left in communal areas of the building.


Q. Do you allow pets?

A. Sorry no we do not

Questions about the room


Q. is my room private?

A. The simple answer to this –

  • If you have booked a ‘Room’ yes, it is.

  • If you have booked a ‘Dorm’ No you have booked a bed and will be sharing the room, unless you have booked all the beds in the room, then it becomes private


Q. Do you have lockers?

A. All rooms have lockers except the double en-suite and 3 bed attic room (They are private rooms)

  • You will need to bring your own padlock. 


Q. What do I get regarding bedding/Towel?

A. We supply anti-allergy bedding. Sheet, Duvet, Duvet cover, pillows (2 pillows each) and pillowcases. You also get a bath towel (Not for beach use)

  • The beds are made for your arrival only, we do not have a turn down service


Q. Do you have spare bedding for cold nights?

A. Yes, we do in a cupboard outside of room 8 in the building

  • Please do not take bedding from other beds in the room if you are in a shared dorm


Q. Is there heating?

A. Yes there is full Central heating and the operating instructions are in each room


Q. Do you have Fans for hot weather?

A. No we do not, we don’t mind you using your own battery-operated fans but please be mindful of other guests if you are sharing a room


Q. Do you have reading lights?

A. Yes, we do on each bed


Questions about the building


Q. Can we bring guests into the building?

A. Sorry no, only paying guests are permitted onto the property due to both our Insurance and Fire regulations


Q. Do you have cooking facilities?

A. Yes, we have a large fully fitted kitchen, 5 burner hobs and twin oven cooker, Fridge freezer, Microwave, Toasters, Kettles and all the pots and pans, cutlery, mugs, glasses etc. We even offer free complimentary Tea/Coffee/Sugar


Q. Do you have hair dryers?

A. Yes, these are kept in the cupboard in the dining area. After use we ask you to return it to the cupboard for other guests to use


Q. Do you have an iron and ironing board?

A. Yes the iron is in the cupboard in the dining room and the board is in the room off the kitchen. Please return it for other guests to use


Q. Do you have laundry facilities?

A. No, but we have a wash room with a large sink next to the kitchen to wash clothes, clean muddy boots, wash out wet suits etc.

  • There is an Airer in the wash room and a washing line in the courtyard at the rear of the building


Q. Do you have Wi FI?

A. Yes we have complimentary free WI FI. 


Q. Is there a TV?

A. Yes, we have a TV and DVD player in the lounge with Freeview channels


Q. Do you have board games and a library?

A. Yes, we do in the dining room area


Q. Where are the bathrooms?

A. shared bathrooms – 2 lots on the first floor and one on the ground floor

  • The double en-suites have their own

  • We do not supply toiletries – you will need to bring your own please.

  • There are hygienic hand gels in every WC


Questions about departure


Q. What is the checkout time?

A. Check out is from the building prior to 1030 am


Q. Can we stay later into the day?

A. Sorry no - A lot of guests request late check out on the day of departure – We are very sorry, but this is not possible as our cleaners have set hours. Please consider booking an extra night if you wish to leave late in the day. 


Q. Is there a left luggage facility?

A. Sometimes! - Left luggage on departure – Sometimes we cannot offer left luggage due to large groups taking over the whole building or that we may not be available to let you back in?

However if it is possible, there is a charge, speak to staff on your departure morning.


Q. Do you accept ‘Luggage Transfer?’

A. Yes we do
